Hi Everyone,
Im new to the group but I wanted to let everyone know that Galveston was devested by Hurricane Ike. I live only 26 miles away and stayed during the storm and it was the most frightening thing I can remember and Ive seem many storms as I grew up and was born on Galveston Island. We dont know the body count there are rumors of many, and so much destruction. »more»

As we age, certain obvious changes take place that we're all aware of - wrinkles form, hair turns grey, teeth can discolor, we buy reading glasses and maybe we even gain a few pounds. One change that may not be as obvious is gradual hearing loss. »more»

Shingles is one of those conditions that many of us have heard about but never witnessed first hand. That's because only about one in 10 healthy adults who've had chickenpox eventually develop shingles (which is about a million cases a year), usually after age 50. But for those who are unlucky enough to develop the condition, it can be an extremely painful and unpleasant experience that can last 3 to 5 weeks (and earning the nickname in some parts of the world as "St. Anthony's Fire"). »more»
