When Christopher Buckley riffs on matters of politics and policy, expect the absurdity dial to be turned to "11." The tobacco lobby? In "Thank You For Smoking," their lobbyist is a hero. Presidential infidelity? "No Way to Treat a First Lady" features a First Lady on trial for assassination. Now we face the Social Security / Medicare crisis, and in "Boomsday" Buckley's heroine puts forth voluntary Boomer suicide as a policy prescription. »more»

Hello Life Two,
I'm a 34 year old woman (or is it over-grown college girl?) in the depths of a what I now know to be a midlife crisis. Over the past 2 years, I divorced my husband because "I wasn't in love with him," changed jobs 3 times, went back to college briefly, moved to a new city and divorced my mother whom I belive to be the root cause of all of this chaos in the first place. I've read most of the information on this site, however it really is aimed at a different generation than me, so I am having difficulty relating. Can anyone point me to helpful 30-something resources, besides the book, "Midlife Crisis at 30?" Any info is greatly appreciated. »more»

In an article that manages to be condescending to both Boomers and Gen Xers, Fortune magazine sought some insight on mediating inter-generational issues at work. Fortune's Anne Fisher interviewed Janet Reid of consulting firm Global Lead, who made no friends with comments like these: »more»
