Jackie Silver's "Aging Backwards: Secrets to Staying Young"

Greg's picture

LifeTwo contributor Jackie Silver writes "Tuesday Tips" for us (click here to see them all). Jackie's focus in that column, at her Aging Backwards website, and in her radio and TV spots is you can use appearance and attitude to fight back against aging.

Her new book "Aging Backwards: Secrets to Staying Young" distills some of her best observations, experiences, and research into an accessible, idea-filled format. You can turn to almost any page and pick out an interesting "I'll try that" idea -- whether it's diet, exercise, personal care, or even sleep.

Some interesting tidbits:

  • unscented baby wipes: as handy as duct tape and WD40?
  • why garlic and grape seed extract have a place in your diet
  • smile, even if you're faking it (there's a reason!)

There are a lot of ideas in the book, and they aren't meant to be universal. If you don't want to pick up a few some sun protection tips, skip those and find one you can adopt.

As Jackie writes, "(Aging Backwards) is about working with what you've got and making a commitment to improving yourself a little bit every single day." That's a great approach, and her book can help you start making those changes.

You can purchase "Aging Backwards" at the book's website here, and visit Jackie's main Aging Backwards site here.

Jackie's Book

I'll add this to Greg's review. It's a great gift book--an easy read that is useful. With the holiday's coming perhaps it'd be a better present than a tie or fruitcake.
