BloggingBoomers Carnival #82 is here at LifeTwo
Submitted by Wesley on August 16, 2008 - 11:47am.
BloggingBoomers is a collection of blogs that focus on midlife issues including health, finance, retirement, nostalgia, and slices of (mid)life living. Each week a different member acts as the host of the carnival and this week it is us. Following the links below will not only lead to interesting articles but also help you discover some new blogs: We start with The Boomer Chronicles who observes that even though Americans love their lawns here are the Top 7 Reasons You Should Kill Your Lawn. Ann at Contemporary Retirement has an interesting video clip about how a group of people were able to cure themselves of Type 2 Diabetes by eating a raw food diet for 30 days. I Remember JFK notes that it all started sometime in the 1950's. Nobody seems to know exactly when. But the who is indisputable: the Emerson Drug Company. Emerson had an extremely successful product on their hands: Bromo-Seltzer. It was (and still is) a wonderful antacid powder that fizzes like crazy when added to water. Bromo had been around forever, but the developers at Emerson wanted to push it to new heights by giving it fruity flavor. This Marriage Thing opines that marriage is like a roller coaster, filled with ups and downs. Sometimes it’s a thrill, and other times you’re just sick. Dina over at This Marriage Thing wonders how do you know when it’s time to get off the ride? The Midlife Crisis Queen who asks those who are looking for an interesting end-of-summer read to check out "Girls Like Us" for a detailed social history combined with some juicy details about the lives of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon. GenPlus suggests that for a really interesting perspective of the online interview process, head over to Gen Plus and “listen” to an online interview with Gail Rentsch, author of “"Smarter Women Don't Retire—They Break Free: From Working Full-Time to Living Full-Time” Then So Baby Boomer observes that Boomer men have two ages: the age they really are, and the age in their heads. Most men are almost always about 31 or 32 in their heads — just ask them. Over at Fabulous After 40 who ask if you've gotten a little flabby over the summer and are wondering what you can wear this fall to make you look slimmer and trimmer, the Glam Gals have the answer. Just zip on over to the Fabulous after 40 to get the scoop on a must have piece of clothing that will serve up some shape! The Baby Boomer Entrepreneur recommends their post "Are Your Customers Looking for a Scary Ned?". Lastly, here at LifeTwo we recommend "Are You Afraid To Speak Up For Fear Of Losing Him?" by regular contributor The Dating Goddess. Wait, there's more.... Winter is coming and Vaboomer talks about heating fuel made from corn stalks and newspapers and Biochar, using waste to replenish soil. Read Similar LifeTwo Stories:
