Aging Backwards Tuesday Tips #58: Lash Out

jackie's picture

What do you get when you grind up old tires? How about mascara? A company out of Canada, NewTire Industries, produces a fine powder product out of old tire treads and that powder is used in mascara. Of course, there are other, more "mainstream" uses for the ground up tires, such as asphalt in road-resurfacing projects, but let's stay on the subject of eyelashes. Try these tips for fabulous lashes.

Eyes on Lashes

1) Try TheBalm. TheBalm has a mascara product called Two-Timer that is "the bomb." There's a brush on each end - one for defining and one for volumizing without clumping and it makes your lashes loooooong and fluffy.

2) Discover FNS Nutrilash Lash and Brow Enhancer from Osmotics. Based on ground breaking research in wound healing, the vitamins, minerals and amino acids in FNS Nutrilash provide essential nutrients for growing strong, healthy lashes and brows. See the before/after pictures at their Web site.

3) Go false. False eyelashes are back in a big way and Henri Bendel's in New York City even opened an eyelash bar in its Fifth Avenue store. Mac Cosmetics has an entire line of false eyelashes and they'll put them on for you for free when you purchase them.

4) Check out SPINLASH Mascara. It's mascara with a spinning brush that separates, lifts and lengthens the lashes. Comes with mascara and spins in both directions.

5) Consider eyelash extensions. NovaLash eyelash extensions are applied lash by lash by a professional for a very natural look that's long-lasting. Unlike some eyelash adhesives, the one used by NovaLash professionals is formaldehyde-free and non-toxic. When properly applied, they can last six to eight weeks.

With a little effort and these tips, you'll be heading out the door looking gorgeous without batting an eyelash.

"I only have to do three things to look halfway decent, curl my eyelashes, fill in my eyebrows and put some lipstick on." -- Courteney Cox
