One food you should never forget is blueberries

Wesley's picture

According to a study soon to be published in the science journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine, a research team from the University of Reading has found that blueberries and other phytochemical-rich foods are effective at reversing age-related deficits in memory."The research team was able to show that the ability of flavonoids to induce memory improvements are mediated by the activation of signalling proteins via a specific pathway in the hippocampus, the part of the brain that controls learning and memory." What this means to you and me is that by incorporating blueberries into our diets we can possibly improve cognitive health. Equally important is that as we age we might find that blueberries form the basis of the treatments we receive for cognitive impairment.

In short there is no reason that you should be putting fresh blueberries on cereals, salads and in yogurt and frozen blueberries into smoothie.
