BloggingBoomers #60 is here at LifeTwo
Submitted by Wesley on March 10, 2008 - 9:01am.
BloggingBoomers is a collection (also called a "carnival") of like-minded bloggers who have contributed posts that are relevant to healthy aging and/or of general interest to baby boomers. For example, this week LifeTwo has contributed "Oprah Winfrey, Please Cut Me Some Slack" which was contributed by one of our community members. This week's first contribution is from BloggingBoomers co-founder the ">Boomer Chronicles, currently one of the most popular baby boomer blogs on the net. They ask whether classified ads are going the way of the dinosaur? The irreverent but never irrelevant So Baby Boomer aptly observes that for boomers who are living on junk food, it will be much harder to the get the results you deserve in your life. Is it time to junk junk food? Ann Harrison at Contemporary Retirement asks "How old would you have to be before you would consider yourself too old to run a marathon?" Head over to Contemporary Retirement to find out who's attempting to become the oldest ever person to do just that. The you can look Fabulous after 40 wonder whether high priced anti-aging creams are really any better than what you can find at the drugstore? The Wastrel Show notes that your retirement money and inheritance may not be safe from the government and taxes. Read how one CPA found an easy loophole all of us can follow. Don't Gel Too Soon proclaims first it was Obama and now Pete Seeger. Slamming into reminders of political and ethical idealism and the joys and power of music, in family as well as political life. OH and three great videos. Finally but never lastly, I Remember JFK, muses that boomers saw the decline, fall, and disappearance of many things during our lifetimes. One of these once-familiar sights that has become much more rare is the hood ornament. Once upon a time, hood ornaments graced the exposed radiator caps of cars built in the 30's and 40's. They were often exquisite art deco creations, and are, of course, avidly sought after by collectors. Take 10 minutes to follow the links above. Not only will you find a variety of interesting posts but you'll be introduced to several great blogs. Your Roundups
Are they popular with readers?
I have a new blog for boomers called The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide at http://boomer--survive-thriveguide.typepad.com.
I'd like to be included in your roundup.
Does Marriage Suck?
That's the boomer question over at This Marriage Thing According to Google over 200k people seem to things so- many midlife couples. I disagree, and say so on my blog.
I'm a big fan of this Carnival so I'm off to throw in my two cents about beauty cream and figure out that loophole! Maybe one day soon I'll be part of this fun carnival, too.
Many thanks!
Dina www.thismarriagething.com Marriage doesn't have to suck...re-invent it!
Ouch
Not trying to ignore anyone and am glad that your blogs are all doing so well. Good for you. Just understand that the carnival is a lot of work, as is running LifeTwo and the other obligations of life.
Anyway, I'm glad that LifeTwo is able to be a vehicle to promote your worthy blogs and hope that it helps.
Thank you for the understanding.
