Does your spouse use too much perfume or cologne? Could be a sign of depression
Submitted by Wesley on January 10, 2008 - 10:57am.
People who are depressed don't always come out and say they are depressed. In fact they might not even know what they are feeling is depression. That's why scientists are always looking for new ways to spot it. Dr. Yehuda Shoenfeld, a physician and autoimmune disease researcher at Tel Aviv University in Israel, believes that one such sign might be men and women who put on too much cologne or perfume. They might not know they are putting on too much because they're depressed.
The loss of sense of smell might also be connected to why many depressed individuals lose weight. Dr. Shoenfeld noted "If you can't smell, you don't eat because you don't enjoy the food. If you don't eat, you lose weight." Read Similar LifeTwo Stories:
