Special One Year Anniversary Edition of BloggingBoomers Carnival

Wesley's picture

Just about a year ago we pulled together a group of journalists, life coaches, authors and entrepreneurs who blog about how to best navigate the middle age years. The group is called the "BloggingBoomers" and once a week we post links to the best articles from each member (see below). We encourage you to check them out.

The Boomer Chronicles is the brainchild of a baby boomer named Rhea Becker, a longtime Boston-based journalist and aspiring screenwriter.

Even if you're middle-aged, your life can change when one or both of your parents die, according to The Boomer Chronicles.

Contemporary Retirement is a blog dedicated to helping you get the happy, healthy, vital, productive, energetic, prosperous and fulfilling retirement you deserve!

You know how sometimes it seems that we baby boomers are being criticised from every direction? Well, one of the most famous (and successful) amongst us, Bill Gates, has struck back. Read what he said to a class of high school kids.

I Remember JFK was born November, 2006, with a crazy concept. People who can remember anything about JFK, even if it's just a snapshot memory of his death, will likely also remember most of the things I watched on TV, the toys I played with, and many of my other memories. Thus was born this Baby Boomer's Pleasant reminiscing spot.

Westerns (both radio and television) were largely kiddy fare in the early 1950's. That changed in 1952 when CBS began airing a western that was aimed at adults. The result was a smash hit that eventually dominated both television AND radio. In fact, for an amazing six years, from 1955 to 1961, the radio and television versions of Gunsmoke existed side-by-side, with two different sets of cast members!

Gen Plus is headed by Wendy Spiegel who advocates passionately for the Boomer and 50 Plus jobseeker. Wendy connects 50 plus friendly employers with determined (and often frustrated) jobseekers through her website, blog, and Career group at Eons.

This week Wendy suggest that you check out this incredibly COOL opportunity she found to work for NASA (yes…THAT NASA) as a Boomer or 50 Plusser!

So Baby Boomer is written by John G. Agno to provides life coaching tips for confident and independent Baby Boomers.

Boomers need to put their wisdom into action toward finding, promoting and voting for political candidates in 2008 who are for free markets, sound money, reasonable tax policies, and ready, willing and able to fight terrorism the way Canada, Sweden and Switzerland do.

Your Drum brings you the cutting edge in culture, music, art, health, relationships and the environment without necessarily being age specific but always with a boomer in mind.

Ray Lamontagne is an alt/country/folk singer with a melancholy tinge in his voice but that's what heartbreak sounds like...It's hard not to like Ray. He seems so sincere in misery and sometimes, just bursts right out of it

Wastrel Show is penned by Boomie--a 55+ semi-retired career/entrepreneur who makes every attempt to continue living 'The Good Life' (La Dolce Vita) while still holding onto her wallet.

They ask are the boomers doing about their aging grandmas? One boomers' granny asked for some money. Find out what he did.

Don't Gel Too Soon explores aging, politics, music, movies, books, parenting, and — as the title suggests, not freezing in place, ever. Since 2008 is 40 years after the amazing 1968, I hope also to recall, as anniversaries pass and I was there for so much of it, just what happened.....

A contemplation of New Hampshire in 1968 and 2008, McCarthy and Obama and Clinton and experience v hope from a McCarthy campaign veteran.

Fabulous After 40 is a site to go site for Fashion Tips for Boomer Women, to help them with tips to look and feel stylish. Founded two years ago, but Image Consultants, Deborah Boland and JoJami Tyler, with the motto "Life is too short to be frumpy!"

With all the after Christmas sales going on right now, it might be tempting when you go back to the mall to return those gifts, to do some more shopping. Should you or shouldn’t you be tempted by those SALE signs?

LifeTwo is a multi-contributor site dedicated to helping provide information and assistance on midlife issues from midlife crises to career changes to health and finances.
