Charting Cancer Risk

Greg's picture

The Centers for Disease Control has made the Global Cancer Atlas available at its website.

You can find charts like this one, showing the leading causes of cancer in the developed world:

Some of the other maps and charts show increasing cancer risk with age, sex differences for different types of cancers, and projections that cancer deaths will rise from 6.7% of all deaths worldwide to 12.9% by 2030.

It's a sobering and useful site.

Many of the charts and maps on the site appear in pop-up windows. If you've turned pop-ups off to avoid ads, you'll have to turn them back on to view much of the Global Cancer Atlas.
