Study: Beta carotene protects memory
Submitted by Wesley on November 12, 2007 - 11:24pm.
A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine indicates a protective effect against cognitive decline in healthy men who look the anti-oxidant beta carotene for about 18 years. Interestingly the same benefit was not seen in men who took the supplements for an average of a year.
A different, this one in France and reported in the journal Neurology, observed the diets of 8,085 men and women over age 65. They found that the risk for developing dementia was lower in those with diets heavy in fish, omega-3 oils, fruits and vegetables. Once again we have confirmation that you are what you eat.
