Helping Others Accomplish Their "To Do Before I Die" Wishes
Submitted by Wesley on October 31, 2007 - 2:47pm.
Want help doing something on your "To Do Before I Die" list? Well, four Canadian college students are on a cross-country mission to do exactly that and are out helping strangers cross things off their own lists. The students, who were inspired by an 1852 Matthew Arnold poem entitled "The Buried Life", have set out on a two-month, 10-city American trip to help 100 random people fulfill their dreams.
The four are traveling in a retro 1970 purple bus and are filming a documentary about the project. They are also working on accomplishing items on their own list of "100 things to do before I die" on their website theburiedlife.com, includes: kissing the Stanley Cup, partying with a rock star, getting into the MTV Music Video Awards, dance with television host Ellen DeGeneres, throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game, and competing in a soapbox derby. Some of the things they have helped other accomplish on their "Before I Die" lists include giving $100 to a waitress to help her learn how to type so she can finish writing a book and helping a security guard get to next year’s NASCAR race.
