Relationships: Study shows that people lie when stating what they want in a mate; now we know how shallow men really are

Wesley's picture

Despite protestations otherwise, a German scientific research team peeled away what people say what they want in a mate and instead followed how they really acted. The results, while not necessarily politically correct, showed that:

...the men sought the more attractive women and the women were drawn to material wealth and security, setting their standards according to how attractive they viewed themselves. Furthermore, while men on average wanted to see every second woman again, the women wanted to meet only a third of the men again.

The study was funded by Germany's national science foundation and will be published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in early September. (Press release here)
