Advice from a Widow: "Widow Words"

What do you say to someone whose husband has just died? How do you help them? How can you understand what they are going through? "There are no words to describe waking up in the morning after your husband has died and thinking, 'I'm a widow.'" writes Marcia Curran author of "Widow Words: 100 Simple Pieces of Advice from Another Widow." After losing her husband, Curran kept a journal of her thoughts and then decided that her thoughts and ideas could help others experiencing similar losses cope with their new world. Even the book's layout has its intended audience in mind and she places just one entry on each page because that might be all a recently widowed woman can handle.
