Grannie Detective Tells How to Avoid a "Midlife Career Crash"

Wesley's picture

At 43 years old, Laura Lanfield was bored. But instead of just killing time in a job she didn't love she did something about it. She became a private detective.

Making a living, but bored and unfulfilled? Does that sound like your story? And you're pushing 45? Well, girls, listen up. It isn't over, 'till it's over. Would cooking wonderful California Salads with exotic fruits and delicious sea food tickle your fancy? How about helping people to locate their missing loved ones or assisting a childless couple to adopt?

You only need the training and you can learn to accomplish any of these feats. The opportunities are there. Open your eyes to fulfill your heart's desires. More than at any other time, women are capable of changing careers, even if it seems they have been doing tedious work for years. Many colleges and universities and private career-oriented schools offer exciting chances to study and learn or intern for the position of your dreams. Having been a TV camerawoman, director, legal secretary and bail bonds lady, I opted at age 43 to become a career private investigator. So I did the necessary courses, interned and now 25 years later I have been a successful private investigator, undercover agent and instructor of my craft to many women hopeful of getting a new start in life, halfway or more through it.

Ms. Lanfield's dream was to be a detective and she did it at 43. What's your dream? Will you do it?
