Alzheimer's Forecast: 4x the Cases in 40 Years

Researchers at Johns Hopkins have made new projections for the worldwide increase in Alzheimer's disease cases: they say today's 26 million victims will grow to 106 million by 2050. That's 1 out of every 85 people. The largest jump will occur in Asia, where cases could rise fivefold. The new study estimates there are 3.1 million Alzheimer's cases in North America today. Higher numbers were released this past March by the Alzheimer's Association, which estimated that there are 5 million people in just the United States with the disease. Read Similar LifeTwo Stories:
