Parents' Worst Nightmare: traffic accidents involving their children; Now the World's #1 Killer of 10-24 year olds
Submitted by Wesley on April 20, 2007 - 10:08am.
Ask parents what keeps them up at night and often it's the fear of something happening to their kids as they are out in cars. Not to add fuel to their paranoia but these concerns are deserved. Traffic accidents are the leading cause of death among young people between 10 and 24 years, according to a new report published by WHO. The report, Youth and Road Safety, says that nearly 400,000 young people under the age of 25 are killed in road traffic crashes every year. Millions more are injured or disabled.
