It's the simplest things that make us happy

We've all heard that it's the simplest things that make us happy, but is it true? The Daily Record reports of a Nokia survey that asked "what little things create happiness and help combat stress?" Among the things they found out was that spending time with friends/loved ones was #1. Other things on the list were "finding a seat on the train," (must be a UK thing), "hearing a favorite old song", "having the remote control all to yourself" (must be a guy thing), and finding money they didn't know they had." Dalene at "It's a Boomer Life" (who pointed us to the Daily Record story) noted that these made her happy:
She then asks us her readers what makes us happy and/or relax? Here's my off-the-top-of-my-head list: Having a great run, my first cup of coffee in the morning, impeccably nice weather (I'm very influenced by the weather), stepping on a scale and surprisingly discovering that I had not gained any weight, having a blog post get picked up by Digg or StumbleUpon, having my cat acknowledge my existence for something other than food, reminiscing...
