Blogging Boomers #19 is here at LifeTwo
Submitted by Wesley on April 21, 2007 - 1:48pm.
The best way to enjoy blogs is to always check new ones out. If you are reading this post then there is a pretty high probability that several of the blogs below will have something that is particularly interesting to you. Suggestion #2, leave comments. Bloggers love them and readers love to see what others are saying. It's easy and pretty much all blogs and all posts accept them. With no further preaching we bring you the latest edition of BloggingBoomers: Our BloggingBoomers co-founder The Boomer Chronicles kicks this carnival off with the observation that Showtime's "The L Word" is one of the few television series that features female characters over 40 (including 57-year-old Cybill Shepherd and 58-year-old Pam Grier) who happen to have active sex lives. Their post is "The L Word" Breaks an Unexpected Barrier". [Viewer discretion suggested.] The always topical So Baby Booomer notes that the new testosterone patches can do for women what Viagra does for men - only better. Their post is "Giving Boomer Women a Lust for Life". [Certain to be popular with the L-Word cast.] Informative blog Man-o-pause explains how a midlife crisis is actually a time for "opportunity and change" in "The Tao of Midlife Crisis". [Not to mention a new sports car!] The irreverent but never irrelevant YourDrum has ten things you can do when you feel angry but you don't want to erupt like a volcano with "I'm Angry and I'm Going to...Well, Here Are Ten Things To Do". [Someone get this to Alec Baldwin.] Fond memory-packed I Remember JFK reports that Burt Reynolds and Richard Nixon might seem like unlikely partners, but together they teamed up to start a craze. An unknown songwriter named Bill Fries was also a major contributor, as were a couple of country boys named Bo and Luke. Of course they are talking about the The CB Radio Craze. [10-4 good buddy, what's your 20?]. At the useful tip-ladden Cafe Glam Deborah and JoJami ponder how a 40+ woman is supposed to look fabulous if she can't remember things like the name of her favorite shade of lipstick, or where she put her darn sunglasses. Read about a new book they've found that tells whether you are losing your mind or just experiencing normal memory loss. Their post is "Carved in Sand-Midlife Memory Fade". [What was I doing again?] Over at the helpful Contemporary Retirement blog you are asked if you've ever dreamed about taking a road trip across the US? If so, don't leave home without first stopping by the and reading The Art of the Road Trip by Robert Isenberg. [IMHO road trip = massive fun.] The 'infotaining' Gen Plus says that for those of you who are not sure what your next steps should be or even where to find the path that you check out their nifty (and already popular) e-workbook which brings business strategy to the 50 plusser in a very user-friendly results-driven format. Their post is a "Strategic Planning with a 50-Plus Edge". [It's hard to be pithy with such useful advice.] And we at LifeTwo don't want to leave ourselves out. Check out our new LifeTwo podcast section. [America's #1 Source For Podcasts on Middle Age or so we hope.] BloggingBoomers is very happy to have the opportunity to include the following guest bloggers. These are all good posts and please support them them by clicking through the links. At Nurse Ratched's Place (where 'Sanity is madness put to good use.') you can read "I'm Not Dead So I'm a Nurse". At Medopedia (packed with valuable medical information) you can see "Mammograms for Women in Their 40’s?". At The Optimized Life (insightful personal growth techniques) you'll be able to read 7 Brain Foods that Will Increase Your Productivity. And finally the authorative SharpBrains (your brain fitness center) you will find "Bill Clinton on health care and wellness" Happy reading! Read Similar LifeTwo Stories:

Great topic
Saw this post right now last night. Will paste is to my blog and share it with the boomer friends at http://seniorwoo.com.
Love the Great Bloggers Section
Thank you for making all this information available. It helps to feel that I'm not the only one getting old and interested in all the sites for boomers.
Oh, you might want to add: http://boomer-books.com/boomerblog/index.php
They have some interesting posts on skin cancer, colonoscopy, and the little health issues that boomers have to deal with for the first time.

Boomer subjects and issues
this is definitely an interesting time of life...Some responsibility has been shed, new directions..and perhaps a new business. That is always exciting...SOmeone should blog about all the new opportunities there are out there for small biz and jobs. ...for the aging population. I wish there was a magic wand of learning to easily teach today's internet...Some wishful thinking I guess. Carol Stanley author of For Kids 59.99 and Over
Boomer Thought Mode
As Boomers we have been seasoned by the various flavors of life's passages. It has been and remains a great ride. I believe that keeping the mind active is as essential to our health as doing the "musts" for physical well-being. My husband and I follow the political realm, not ony for its impact on Boomers, but on current issues. Live the life you have been given and enjoy the moments!
KABOOM-ER "the explosive growth of boomer entrepreneurs
Just thought I would pass along a link to a "free" (no subscription required) ebook for boomers, "KABOOM-ER, the explosive growth of boomer entrepreneurs". If you are still deciding what to do for the next 30 years, this ebook has lots of great ideas to inspire and enthuse our generation, plus links to great music too. Instead of us being dismissed as retirees, golden agers and the like, my wife and I have coined the phrase: PRIME TIME REBELS, we are not intending to conform to how society views us.So, join the PRIME TIME REVOLUTION ! See the promo video on YouTube: ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4SS_Zzudjs and go to the website: www.kaboom-er.com and enjoy. Rock On !
Check my blog out
Would love it if you would check my new blog...http://closinginonretirement.blogspot.com/

Book On Internet Dating
Great information from boomer blogs. Boomers are still active and alive on the social scene. Let me recommend a recent book entitled "Internet Safari, Finding Love Online at 65" as a tale of how boomers are navigating the internet very successfully.
