Boomer Girl: Fighting Midlife One Crisis at a Time

Cathy Hamilton is a humor writer and the author of "I Love You More Than Beer: And 99 Other Declarations of a Guy's Adoration" and a dozen other books. She is also the director of BoomerGirl Multimedia, editor of BoomerGirl.com and she writes a weekly humor column for the Lawrence Journal-World called "BoomerGirl Diary." In other words, she spends pretty much every waking hour thinking about how to put a humorous spin on the travails and triumphs encountered by middle age women as their physiology conspires against them.

Her new book, "Boomer Girl: Fighting Midlife One Crisis at a Time," in her words:

"...takes a frank look at the good, the bad, and the funny parts of aging. Our fearless heroine [Boomer Girl] battles mood swing, dishonest car mechanics, hot flashes, and boomerang children..."

Being a graphic novel it only takes about 3 minutes to read cover to cover so it's probably a better gift book than a self-purchase. It's humorous take on midlife will likely raise a smile from a middle age friend in menopause or someone unhappily facing their 50th birthday.
