PBS Offering Documentary on 100 Years of Boomers

Greg's picture

On Wednesday, March 28, PBS will air “The Boomer Century: 1946-2046.” It's being promoted as a look at the history and defining events of the baby boom generation, with an eye toward predicting how they will change the future.

Hosted by author Ken Dychtwald, the show will feature not just news clips, but interviews with such boomer icons as director Rob Reiner, NAACP Chairman Julian Bond, novelist Erica Jong, "Vagina Monologues" playwright Eve Ensler, economist Lester Thurow, futurist Alvin Toffler, and wingnut Oliver Stone.

Dychtwald has pursued the question of how the boomers will age across several books, so expect the documentary to spend as much time on the 2007-2046 portion of its time frame as on 1946 - now.

To learn more, visit the PBS web page for the show, which also offers a short preview in Quicktime or Windows Media formats.
