Jeanne Stawiecki's Peak-bagging, Marathoning Mission Reaches The Biggest Obstacle of All

Greg's picture

Jeanne Stawiecki, who we interviewed earlier this year, sets out next week on her third attempt to climb Mt. Everest. If successful, she'll become the first woman to summit the highest mountains and run marathons on all seven continents.

That would be a feat at any age. Jeanne is 56.

After considering herself nonathletic most of her life, and only taking up running at age 44, she recently completed seven marathons in only five months.

That was only a prelude to the big one. You will be able to track her progress at her website, SevenIn2007.com, which should have dispatches and video as she makes her way toward a May / June ascent of the world's highest mountain.

As she set forth on this last leg of her quest, she wrote and asked us to send positive energy her way -- "I need all the good vibes I can get!" We think she makes her own positive energy, but we'll do what we can.
