Heart Health Awareness; Especially Important for Women

Heart health is an issue for both men and women and the American Heart Association recommends that adults have their tickers checked out (this should be part of the annual physical that everyone in middle age should be doing annually). The statistics on heart disease are staggering and thanks to blogger Fifty-Something Women we learned that the lifetime risk of dying of cardiovascular disease is nearly one in three for women (the 1 killer of women) making it essential that women understand their individual risks for developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). The American Heart Association has just updated their guidelines for women's lifetime heart risk:
