Working Your Brain Becomes Easier: Sudoku on Apple iPod

Wesley's picture

Last month LifeTwo reviewed Brain Age for the Nintendo DS and wrote about its Sudoku module. We didn't think the Sudoku was as good as Astraware Sudoku, which is available for Palm OS / Treo, Windows Mobile, and Pocket PC.

Now there's another option. If you've got a 5th generation iPod (iPod with video), Electronic Arts Sudoku for iPod is available from iTunes for $5. That's less than a typical Sudoku book!

From the iTunes Store homepage, click on "iPod Games," then "Sudoku." There's a video preview on the game page.

A review at Podophile is pretty favorable:

...there’s a lot of value there. Anyone with a even passing interest in Sudoku would do well to check this version out. For long-time fans, it’s pretty much an essential iPod addition.

Pros:
* Thousands of puzzles
* Five difficulty settings
* Clear, easy-to-read graphics
* Simple controls
* Newspaper Mode to enter your own puzzles

Cons:
* Buggy audio
* No way to download or import puzzles directly from your computer
* Compatible with 5G iPods (iPod with video) only
* Unable to play on computer

In short, it's a convenient way to ensure you always have a Sudoku puzzle at the ready.

For those of you who've already forgotten the importance of working your brains (irony intended), click on the Brain Health tag below.
