Sara Davison's "Leap:" "Loose Change" Enters Late Middle Age
Submitted by Wesley on January 14, 2007 - 1:04pm.
30 years ago Sara Davison wrote "Loose Change," the bestseller about three boomer women coming of age in the Sixties. This time around her subject matter is midlife and the choices faced navigating middle age. From Amazon:
Davidson discusses a transition that everyone must go through that she calls the "narrows." "In the narrows, you're in the dark, stripped of what you thought was your identity, and must grapple with questions like: What do you really want to do with the time left? What will make you feel most alive? That your being here has mattered?" Davidson says that you may do it in your late 40s or possibly not until your 70s, but "if you don't do it voluntarily, the world or your body will force you to." Consider yourself warned.
