How to Create New Year's Resolutions that Stick

Dave's picture

Just about everyone I know has struggled with the New Year Resolution Game. It goes something like this: You declare the changes you will make as a result of being unhappy, frustrated and even disgusted with your current state. You feel pumped, committed, and in-action. You buy gear, join clubs, start diets, order books, buy clothes... all the things you need to be a new you.

You dive in, sleep less, get up earlier and you are actually doing new things: working out, eating healthy, stopped smoking, looking for new job/mate/home, etc. And it goes on for a while - until around March or so. Then splat. It dies the death of all the other commitments.

How can it be different this year? I have gathered a lot of the best resources on the net. You can check these links that can help you set intentions, create a path and stay on target for lasting and important changes. There is a reason behind the ritual of resolutions on January first. It is the time for change. Throw out what is not working in your life and take on creating how you want your life to be going.

They will help you answer these questions:

  • Where do I begin?

How do I overcome difficult times?

What do I need to do to start?

OK, I know what I want to do, but how do I do to get started and stay on track?

What can I do about my health?

  • Read the article with all of the resources at "http://www.thedisquiet.com/index.php"

There is a lot here. Have fun poking around and finding what helps. You do not need to do everything here. Just work with what seems helpful. Good Luck.

    Happy New Year!
