In treating depression, "try, try, again"

From RPXG News we learn the surprising news that some patients who have failed three drug treatment programs for depression might still derive benefit from a fourth drug program attempt. The study showed that "the patient who had not responded to two or three previous treatments still has hope for a remission from his or her depression," said Dr. Robert Freedman of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. For patients who failed all four drug treatment programs however the news was not so good. In those cases the physicians may have to consider alternate non-drug treatment.
