50+: Igniting a Revolution to Reinvent America; Bill Novelli calls out Baby Boomers
Submitted by Wesley on September 30, 2006 - 7:55pm.
Bill Novelli is the CEO of AARP and his new book ("50+: Igniting a Revolution to Reinvent America")is his challenge to the baby boomer generation to come together and exploit the unique opportunity to transform society. Novelli's premise is that there is strength in numbers and that 50+ shouldn't live just for themselves but to also collectively reform and improve societal issues. For example, instead of just continuing to work past retirement (whether because of need or simply desire), Novelli calls for a revolutionizing of the workplace in a way that benefits everyone. And if you are working for the love of it, he calls on boomers to work for causes that will improve the lives of others. Another example, he calls for the development of innovative products and services that add value to 50+ lives, and then for boomers to use their immense collective purchasing power to make them affordable. The collective wealth and capabilities of the 78 million strong baby boomer generation is unprecedented in history and Novelli is calling on them to apply this power and ability to create a lasting legacy of social good. To paraphrase Novelli, "Boomers, are you up to the challenge?" For more baby boomer relevant stories click on the "topic" and "tag" buttons below. Read Similar LifeTwo Stories:
