Retirement Living TV
Submitted by Wesley on September 29, 2006 - 4:57pm.
When you read about television networks and media it becomes very clear that the vast majority of networks are battling to get younger viewers and treat older demographics with near disdain. For example, CBS has long been criticized for the advanced age of its viewers while the Fox Network is admired for their ability to attract young demos. Never mind that seniors have significantly greater wealth and disposable income than teens who are largely broke in comparison, that just doesn't seem to matter when it comes to TV viewership. Fortunately not everyone thinks this way and Dick Stroud has built a business helping companies market to "the most powerful group of consumers - the 50-plus market." Now we have a TV network dedicated to addressing the interests and needs of aging Americans, Retirement Living TV (RLTV). In their words:
Right now, you can only see RLTV if you live in one of approximately 1,500 communities served by Comcast Mid-Atlantic and New England. But it's a new network and this is almost certain to grow. (Click here and type in your zip code to see if the network is available in your area). If they succeed they won't be the first entrepreneurs to laugh all of the way to the bank marketing to something other than the "coveted" 18-34 year olds. tags: rltv Like what you are reading?
