Welcome To Thursday ... The Day People Search for "Midlife Crisis" On The Web
Submitted by Greg on August 17, 2006 - 12:44pm.
We haven't figured it out yet, but Thursday is the #1 day of the week for midlife-crisis related searches on Google. LifeTwo advertises on Google using keywords related to "midlife crisis." We get aggregate data back, such as the number of impressions (views) our ads had and the number of people who clicked through to our site. Here's what we see when we look at impressions by day of the week: Since our ad impressions are tied to Google searches on midlife crisis-related word combinations, it's a good proxy for the relative number of people inquiring about midlife crisis. The jump in Monday traffic is a well-known phenomenon -- people return to work and the high-speed connections there, and promptly catch up on all the surfing they couldn't do on their slow -- or nonexistent -- connection at home. But Wednesday is bigger than Tuesday, and Thursday bigger than Wednesday. Could it be the accumulated stress of the work week builds up until people just can't help wondering if they're having a midlife crisis? Then, on Friday, they leave early -- it's summer, after all -- and there's a bit of a respite until the cycle begins anew. But the weekend drop isn't as large as we expected -- there are still a lot of people looking for information about midlife crisis on Saturday and Sunday. (We hope you find it at LifeTwo!) Maybe there are people in the world still sad that "Friends" is off of the air on Thur night?
