When will we see "midlife" podcasts? Will anyone listen?

Podcasts are downloadable audio files for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. In 2005, the editors of the New Oxford American Dictionary selected podcast as the Word of the Year. Right now there are a dearth of podcasts aimed at baby boomers. Will this ever change and if there were podcats aimed at this demographic would people care? It appears the answer is yes to both.

In a study of Canadian consumers, "Podcasting is now moving away from the early adopters and into the mainstream. Podcasts are no longer being listened to solely by young, tech-savvy men. Instead, podcast listeners in Canada are much older and are earning quite a bit of money." In the survey, more than half of the podcast listeners were over 35 and a significant number were over 45. Given the immense popularity of self-help books aimed at midlife readers it is almost certain that podcasts covering topics such as Midlife Crises, Midlife Career Changes, Midlife Divorce, etc. will soon be on the market (and don't be surprised if some of these come under the LifeTwo brand.)
