Why register on LifeTwo?

  • contribute articles: registered users can write articles that (with editorial review) get published on LifeTwo's home page.
  • comments appear immediately: Your comments won't be held for approval. Comments from anonymous users can be queued up for a day or more until we can check them.
  • bookmark items you want to come back to: Registered users can add pages to a personal list of bookmarks, so they're easy to find again (here's how).

These features are currently not working, but we hope to bring them back soon:

  • email articles to yourself or friends: Registered users can email articles -- in the "Actions" area at the end of the item, click "send to a friend."
  • receive weekly email digests of new LifeTwo articles: ... and you have complete control over starting / stopping it. See this page for instructions on how to set this up.
  • buddy lists: Registered users can identify other users and contributors as "buddies." You'll see a "my buddies' recent posts" so that you can see what they've written since the last time you visited.
  • get content recommended just for you: Just like Amazon recommends books based on your browsing and buying habits, we can recommend articles you should be interested in. When you rate the articles at LifeTwo with one to five stars, our system looks for other posts that are highly recommended by people with voting patterns similar to you (so the more you vote, the better the recommendations!).

In the future, registered users will be able to organize groups of other users around common interests.

How to register

Under the "log in" button at the top of the lefthand column, click on create new account. Fill in the information -- only the username and email address are required -- and click "create new account." We'll send an email to that address with a temporary password, and instructions on how to change it.

Why do you need my email address?

Since we allow registered users to easily send articles via our mail server, we need to be sure spammers don't take advantage of this. Ensuring that the person registering is real, with a valid email address, is one line of defense. Rest assured that we won't share your email address with anyone outside LifeTwo, nor will we send you unsolicited commercial messages. Within LifeTwo, only senior management has access to the database containing the user information.
