Whether it's your office holiday party or an invitation from someone special, we want to look and feel our best and it doesn't have to take all day. There are now more than 36,000 centenarians, or people 100 years or older, in Japan - a record number and more than 4,000 than last year's figure, according to the Health and Welfare Ministry. Japan has one of the longest life expectancies. The UN projects there will be nearly one million people over 100 years old in Japan by 2050, with women making up the majority. »more»

Back when I was young, we were taught to be very coy with members of the opposite sex - you never, ever told a boy/man you "liked them." New research reveals that telling someone "I really like you," could make him or her find you more attractive. Being a Florida native, I've been through hurricanes for almost 50 years, ranging from category one storms to category fives. I can tell you from experience that the fives are storms to take very seriously, but the ones are usually nothing more than a powerful rain shower. Scientists at the University of Michigan have discovered that people who get a "buzz" the first time they smoke a cigarette have a certain gene variant that is lacking in people who cough, choke and get nauseated from that initial smoke. The people with this gene are most likely to become regular smokers, according to the journal Addiction. »more»
